Quotes by Anu Garg:

In 2011, I asked him whether he is vegan and why. He answered:
"Yes, I am vegan. I was raised as a vegetarian. Then about 16 years ago I came across some literature from Vegan Outreach and it made sense to me and made me aware of cruelty behind dairy, and I decided to go vegan."
He was raised vegetarian, but stopped eating all animal products in 1995. About this decision he said:
"What really struck me was that animals are also sentient beings ..., I realized that they are made for their own purposes -- whether you believe in God or nature -- not for us to consume."
The day before Barack Obama became president, Anu Garg said:
"We’ve come a long way in this country. But we still have far to go before we can call ourselves truly unbiased. Real progress will be when any capable person can have a fair chance at winning the highest office, even someone who happens to be, say, a black gay vegan atheist woman."

Quotes are from his 2008 interview with Seattle Pi and a 2009 entry from his A.Word.A.Day.
